Our Story

Our owner & creative director, LaParis Phillips, a St. Louis native, has been a nature lover since childhood. Working at her family’s balloon/flower shop in her youth many seeds were planted. Entrepreneurship, sustainability and beauty has always been the foundation that has kept her rooted in the growth of Brooklyn Blooms.

Brooklyn Blooms was planted in 2017 in the neighborhood of Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn with a mission to serve it’s neighborhood and the surrounding communities with uniquely curated blooms while maintaining sustainable practices.

We aim to reduce our carbon footprint by practicing sustainability. These practices include:

  • Re-purposing flower market craft paper into wrapping paper. We cut it to size and stamp it with our official Brooklyn Blooms stamp.
  • Traveling near and far to thrift stores, antique shops, and hidden gems to select beautiful vessels to be used to create art for you and yours. We love the personality and character that each piece brings to a space, and are always excited to see them off to a new home.
  • At Brooklyn Blooms we believe that flowers still hold beauty after their vibrant colors have left. We dry flowers for purchase and to be used during the fall and winter seasons for wreaths, events, workshops.
Brooklyn Blooms draws inspiration from fashion, nature and art while using flowers as the medium. Mixing textures, colors, and silhouettes applies to arranging flowers just as much as it applies to creating the perfect look. We believe that everyone is an individual and deserves to have florals tailored just for them, even down to the vessel! By using curated seasonal blooms in interesting found vases we create “beautiful things out of beautiful things” with you in mind.
